Speedline S.r.l. specialises in developing and producing high-quality light alloy wheels for passenger cars. Based in Santa Maria di Sala, Italy, the company is considered a pioneer in the field of flow-forming technology. Its internal value chain covers almost the entire spectrum, from development, the melting and casting process, heat treatment and mechanical processing to the surface treatment of the finished product. Due to its extensive production capabilities, Speedline offers rims in almost all sizes, from 14 inches to 23 inches.
As the producer of choice for (local) premium and luxury OEMs, Speedline meets not only the highest quality standards but also the high flexibility expectations of its demanding customers. Additionally, Speedline is a relevant producer for the rally and racing sector and has a presence in the automotive aftermarket with its own brand, “Speedline Corse”.
The Ronal Group has made the decision to sell Speedline to a suitable investor for the purpose of reindustrialisation. This move is intended to support the company’s reorganisation and sustainably enhance its operational and economic performance.
Over the past few years, Speedline has been facing negative operating results, primarily due to the challenges in the automotive industry as a whole. Furthermore, the European wheel market has been struggling with an oversupply of manufacturing capacities for years, leading to a decline in margins and under-utilisation of capacity for Speedline.
To achieve sustainable and positive results, aligning the company’s cost structure with current market conditions is imperative. Moreover, a clear strategic reorientation is required. The resumption of active product marketing under the company’s well-regarded own brand is a decisive factor towards this end. Another crucial aspect is the optimisation of energy procurement and consumption.
