Polymer Filtration Solutions GmbH (PFS) was carved out from MainTech Systems GmbH and transferred to a new legal entity. The company’s operations focus on the sulfonation of polyethersulfones (SPES), which is unrelated to MainTech Systems GmbH’s core business in plant engineering.
For this reason, the SPES production was separated in order to develop and expand this business area independently.

Transaction & Strategy
As a non-core activity within MainTech Systems, the marketing of SPES had never been actively developed. Through the carve-out, Polymer Filtration Solutions is now in a position to expand its production capacities and operate independently. On the customer side, demand for SPES is strong, ensuring that the produced volumes can be fully absorbed by the market.
To further grow the business, the company plans to relocate to new production facilities within the Industrie Center Obernburg (ICO) and to launch an extensive investment program in new equipment and infrastructure.
